A Day With HIV

by | Sep 22, 2024 | Blog, HIV/AIDS

Diagnosed at age 11, I’ve lived many of my days with HIV…

At 49 I am thankful for the advancements in HIV treatment that have allowed me to far outlive my prognosis. I wear my AIDS Memorial t-shirt to let the spirits know- and their loved ones- that they are not forgotten.

They are loved.

A Day With HIV is an anti-stigma campaign created by Positively Aware Magazine that occurs every September 22nd. People with HIV who are comfortable sharing their status publicly are invited to post a photo- a snapshot of their lives- as well whatever is on their mind. Be sure to visit A Day With HIV on Instagram.

I am thankful for Gwenn, who reminds me of these things!

Hope this finds everyone out there enjoying their day, whether it’s with HIV or not. Oh, be sure to get tested if you don’t know your status. A healthy life is possible: but the sooner you know your status the better.

Positively Yours,

Shawn
